Transformational BodyTalk

Certification Frequently Asked Questions

When can I call myself a BodyTalk practitioner?

Upon completion of each module, you will have in hand a certificate of attendance. After the training, you will be able to immediately conduct BodyTalk sessions on a non-professional basis. The completion of BodyTalk Fundamentals (Modules 1 + 2) further entitles you to become a member of the International BodyTalk Association (IBA), and you will receive an IBA membership certificate.

However, if you wish to practice professionally, upon completion of BodyTalk Fundamentals and as an IBA member, you could then apply for certification, which requires both a written and practical examination, and on passing be recognized by the IBA as a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CBP). The IBA will send you a CBP certificate. You will have to check the local requirements and legal parameters on how you can start your practice as a CBP in your country.

What’s involved in the exam?

The exam consists of a written part to be completed (90% pass mark) before a practical examination where you are required to satisfy the instructor that you know and understand all the material taught in the BodyTalk System™ BodyTalk Fundamentals (Modules 1 + 2) seminars and manuals. You will be demonstrating on another person and answering questions regarding any aspect of the material learned. This is a 2 hour process.

Following the BodyTalk Fundamentals (Modules 1 + 2) seminar you will need to study the material presented – in your own time, or joining the nearest study group – and when you are ready and have satisfied the pre-requisites you will book to sit your exam.

The exam can be taken with any instructor at any time that is convenient to you both.

Exams are sometimes done in the evening following a days teaching depending on each instructor’s choice. Sometimes they are done the day before or after a seminar.

Pre-requisites?

Membership of the IBA is required. The IBA is a very active supportive association and becoming a member will give you access to study materials and tips.

The current (January 2005) yearly fee for standard membership is $150. Membership is arranged after attending BodyTalk Fundamentals (Modules 1 + 2) with the IBA directly.

You are required to have monitored BodyTalk Fundamentals (Modules 1 + 2) once or attended BodyTalk Fundamentals Integration (Advanced Practical 1 + 2) and conduct 50 sessions without using chart or manuals prior to taking the exam.

After completing and passing the exam, you have the opportunity to upgrade your membership from Standard member to practicing member. Your name will then be listed by state or country on the practitioner’s site for prospective clients who are looking for practitioners in their area.

After attending any Module once, monitoring the same course is available at a much cheaper price (as often as you like) and is an invaluable way to deepen all aspects of the material.

How much does the exam cost?

The current fee as instructed by the IBA is $175.00 (non-refundable) payable to the instructor on the day. Once you pass there is a processing fee of $20 to the IBA.

How do I book the exam?

Please contact the Instructor you wish to book with.

All the above and more will be explained at the end of each seminar, and there will be a chance to ask any further questions you find yourself with.
